In this competitive industry, your acting resume is still one of your most powerful advertising tools at your disposal. However, you have just one page to actually tell them exactly where you have been, and what you are capable of doing. With that said, there is no reason to make an acting resume that is full of fluff and details that do not interest your prospective employer. Instead, you can create a simple two-page resume that lists your education, acting experience, qualifications, and so on.

Your acting resume for beginners should be easy to read. This means that it contains enough information to get a potential employer to take one look at it, but not so much information that it ends up taking up the entire page. Instead, you should create a simple two-page template that lists your education, acting experience, qualifications, etc. Then, include a simple contact info section... which will be your website address or email.

When it comes to designing your acting resume for beginners, keep it simple and straight forward. Don't put all of your acting credits on one page, nor multiple credits on the same page. This is not only confusing, but it can also cause potential employers to lose interest. Instead, create separate categories on a separate sheet of paper. For example, if you worked on television shows like "E.T." or "The Firm," include those particular shows or movies with your acting credits on separate tabs.

In addition to separation of content, you should also separate your theatre credits as well. Your resume should list them in proper chronological order, from beginning to end. For instance, if you were credited for playing the role of "omasie" in the movie "Singin' in the Rain," you should place that actor's name in the first section of your resume, before your acting roles in TV shows, movies, or music videos. Be sure to check the theatre listings in your area... many times the theatre staff will put names in alphabetical order (or even rank them) to help locate the actor or actress best known for their performance.

The next thing you want to remember when designing new media resume for beginners is to make sure you include any web series credits you may have. Usually, these types of credits are denoted by a number after their name. They are usually listed alongside the actor's full name and role they played in the web series. For example, say you are an actor who has appeared in a webseries as "Chad Dabney" or "Weeds." You would place those names in separate tabs on your resume.

Finally, be sure to list any special skills you may have. Many times you'll find a special skill listed in the upper left-hand column of a resume or in the upper right-hand corner. This will allow you to tick off special skills you may have used in your acting career. You can also place this section at the end of your resume.
